Tooth Morphology Design Techniques for Dental Lab Technicians

- Luke S. Kahng, CDT., teaches master dental technician techniques for designing the tooth morphology of the anterior teeth. This is a collection of 15 real cases, showing how Luke designs the centrals, laterals, and canines to have the most aesthetic tooth morphology. He explains what characteristics of the patient's natural teeth should be matched, and which to ignore for the most beautiful but natural looking prosthetics. This includes taking into consideration the patient's genetic tooth shape, the tooth characteristics created by the patient's habits like bruxism and coloration, and what to do when the patient has a mixture of prior fake teeth and natural.
Luke also demonstrates how to create an illusion of smaller width for a tooth to fill a larger gap. You will also learn about incisor edge position, occlusion, and hight of contour.
I really appreciate your videos, I've watched almost all of them, but is there a way to silence the vacuum and hand piece so that we can hear what you are saying?

@@Lsk121 hello doctor, great work! I have a question. I currently have a porcelain over metal crown on my number 8 that I got when I was 14, and that was 14 years ago. Now I can see the metal at the top and the crown is too long compared to my other tooth. My dentist said that I can’t replace it since I had a root canal underneath it and he said I’m risking my tooth to break. Is this true? Also, I was wondering would I be able to file down the crown a tiny bit myself to match the size of my other front tooth? Thank you! Hope to hear from you. Have a nice day!!

Is the Dental Lab Tech program a kind where you can go to the college tech training for only three hours a day, two or three days a week if you wanted to, or is it one where you are required to take at least 4+ hours a day, all five days of the week?
Its not a dying profession for me, I started my way at the bottom as a scanner making $16-17 an hour, now I can almost do everything including digital and analog methods and now making $30. Still plenty of growth left. Depends on how much effort and constructive criticism you can take, Ive been in for 8 years now. If you go to work doing the same thing over and over trying to produce as many crowns as you can without enhancing or improving your skills then yes its a dead end career because its no better than a manufacturing job. But if you can improve and learn as much as you can that will be your best bet.@@kelecortez5834

The worst decision I ever made was having my teeth shaved down for caps, the caps destroyed my teeth
If I had known that she ; the dentist : was going to file my perfect teeth down to nothing I would NEVER had did this. I’ve had5 teeth fall out one by one. I now have the worst dentures ever! I can’t explain how much I hate these plastic stumps I’ve got in my mouth. There was nothing wrong with my teeth. She just wanted my money!!
